Community Gathering to Honor Whitefish Bay Schools Superintendent
Superintendent of Schools, Dr. James R. Rickabaugh is retiring from his post on July 31, 2010. And, in his honor, the School District is hosting a celebration to recognize his leadership and service to the community, staff and students of Whitefish Bay.
Members of the community are invited to join in this celebration Tuesday, June 8, 2010 from 3:45-5:45 p.m. in the High School rotunda, 1200 E. Fairmount Avenue.
“Dr. Rickabaugh has given 10 years of exemplary service to the School District of Whitefish Bay. From creating a focus plan to successfully passing a referendum, Dr. Rickabaugh has moved our district forward, creating an environment that fosters the highest quality education while addressing the needs of all children,” says School Board President, Marie R. Greco.
Following retirement Rickabaugh will serve as the Director of a Leadership Center for principals and superintendents. The Leadership Center was formed by the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators and the Wisconsin Association of School District Administrators for their members. In addition to his work with the Center, Rickabaugh says, “I’ll be staying active in education beyond the Center, particularly focused on the future of American education.”
Light refreshments will be served following a short program featuring remarks from members of the community, the Whitefish Bay School board and staff.
