1A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of psilocybin, a psychedelic mushroom, after being stopped for speeding 74 mph in a 55 mph zone in the 9200 block of Interstate 43 at 1:05 a.m. Dec. 6. There was an odor of marijuana in the car and when police asked him if he'd been smoking anything, he said, "I honestly have a little weed on me." He opened the center console and pulled out a bag holding 1.9 grams of marijuana. His backpack was found in the trunk and in it, police found 23.1 grams of the psilocybin mushrooms which he admitted were his.
2A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for theft of mail in the 8200 block of North Teutonia Avenue about 7 a.m. Nov. 10. The man, who was riding a bike pulling a wagon, took the mail and put it in the wagon. He later said he had no reason to do what he did. Most mail was recovered.
3A smartphone valued at $700 and a coin purse, value not listed, were taken when left unattended at Brown Deer Lanes, 4715 W. Bradley Road, at 11 a.m. Nov. 19. A witness reported seeing a man about 18 to 20 grab the items and flee with two other men. They drove off in a silver car.
4A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for possession of marijuana and theft at Kohl's, 9060 N. Green Bay Road, at 5 p.m. Nov. 22. The man had taken a sweatshirt and jeans valued at $65 and when arrested said "I ain't gonna steal again. I got peer-pressured." He had 3.1 grams of marijuana in five plastic bags. He told police it was just for his use.
5A car was broken into causing $300 damage in the 6500 block of West Brown Deer Road before 3 p.m. Nov. 26. Nothing was reported taken.
6A purse and contents including a smartphone valued at $250 was taken from a locked car in the 4300 block of West Bradley Road before 8:45 a.m. Nov. 28. The purse had been left in plain sight on the front seat. Damage to a window was $200.
7Three residents reported rims or tires taken from an underground parking structure in the 4100 block of West Rivers Edge Circle on Nov. 29 or 30. One reported three Chevy Malibu rims valued at $800 were taken. Another reported four tires and four rims gone and another one tire and one rim. Those values were not available.
8A 26-inch LCD TV, two laptops and a watch, values not available, were taken during a burglary in the 4400 block of West Terry Avenue between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Dec. 2. There was sign of forced entry.
9A Fox Point woman, age not released, was arrested for driving while impaired and driving while impaired with children under 16, refusal to take a breath test, unregistered vehicle and driving too fast for conditions after police found her abandoned car in a ditch with two child seats in the car in the 8000 block of North Santa Monica Boulevard at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 4. The woman, who was found at home smelling of alcohol, said she had a glass of wine the night before. On this day, she said, she'd taken her children shopping and had the accident on the way home. A bit later, she admitted drinking that afternoon but only after the accident. She failed field sobriety tests and had a preliminary blood alcohol content of 0.248.
10A 56-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for theft and habitual criminality after taking 10 dart sets valued at $320 from Danny Vegh's Home Entertainment, 540 W. Silver Spring Drive, at 5 p.m. Nov. 27. When arrested, he was found with other stolen items including four bottles of cologne valued at $250 taken from Brooks Brothers.
11A male was seen grabbing four jackets valued at $900 and fleeing Erehwon, 599 W. Glen Bay Ave., at 6:15 p.m. Nov. 27.
12A 20-year-old woman, residence not released, was arrested for possession of marijuana after an employee reported a strong odor of marijuana coming from her room at LaQuinta Inn, 5423 N. Port Washington Road, at 12:15 p.m. Nov. 30. The woman and her guests were told they had to leave or they would be cited for trespassing. They refused to leave unless they were given a refund and police were called. It was then the woman was found with 3.4 grams of marijuana.
13Two male teenagers were wanted for theft of two smart phones and a case with a total value of $1,230 from U.S. Cellular, 6969 N. Port Washington Road, at 6 p.m. Nov. 30. An employee was busy with another customer when the teens, who had been in the store earlier, took the phones and fled.
14A 33-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for theft of items valued at $257 from Kohl's, 5650 N. Bayshore Drive, at 7 p.m. Nov. 30. The woman was brought to the store by Milwaukee police who had stopped her earlier and found her with the Kohl's merchandise that she then admitted taking. Surveillance video was viewed and showed her taking the items.
15An attempted theft of a 2004 Chrysler Sebring was reported in a Bayshore parking structure at 575 W. Glen Bay Ave. early afternoon Dec. 1. A door lock was broken to gain entry and there was damage to the ignition.
16A 37-year-old woman, residence not released, was arrested for theft of a $35 blouse taken from H&M, 5765 N. Bayshore Drive, and a $350 blazer taken from Boston Store, 5701 N. Lydell Ave., at 2:35 p.m. Dec. 1. The woman had the items in her purse telling police what she did "was stupid."
17A 34-year-old Texas man was arrested for driving a motor vehicle without the owner's consent in the 900 block of West Silver Spring Drive at 5 p.m. Dec. 1. An officer stopped the car when he saw an unrestrained child jumping up and down in the back seat. It was then discovered the car had been reported stolen out of Missouri. The man said he had not stolen the car, he rented it. He had rented it but it was to be returned by Sept. 4 and when it wasn't, it was reported stolen.
18A Chrysler Sebring was reported stolen from the Lydell garage, 5701 N. Lydell Ave., the afternoon of Dec. 1. Later that day, it was reported that car had been used in an armed robbery in Milwaukee.
19A 28-year-old man, residence not released, was arrested Dec. 2 for theft, a warrant and possession of a controlled substance at the Bolter Corp., 4200 N. Port Washington Road, on Nov. 30. The man, a temporary worker, was caught on video tape taking $80 from a purse left on a lunch table. When he came to work on Dec. 2, he was arrested for the theft and was found in possession of 0.3 grams of heroin.
20A wallet with credit cards and $200 cash was taken from a car at La Quinta Inn, 5423 N. Port Washington Road, about 1:15 a.m. Dec. 3 and reported at 9:45 a.m. A window was smashed to gain entry. The theft was caught on surveillance video.
No reportable incidents this week.
21A bicycle valued at $650 was taken from a storage unit in an underground garage in the 3800 block of North Oakland Avenue sometime Nov. 28 or Nov. 29.
22Three metal window grates valued at $900 were taken from the 4400 block of North Oakland Avenue on Dec. 3 or 4.
23A purse valued at $600 and contents including a wallet, credit cards and $30 cash and a $50 gym bag were taken from a locked car in Lot 2, 4500 W. Estabrook Parkway, about 1 p.m. Dec. 4. A window was broken to gain entry causing more than $200 damage.
24An attempted robbery was reported in the 3800 block of North Maryland Avenue about 6 p.m. Dec. 5. A woman reported that a male tried to grab her smartphone from her pocket while she held on to it. He fled when she wouldn't let go. He was described as wearing a black hooded shirt that partially covered his face.
25Two males, ages and residences not released, were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and one also for possession of marijuana after they were found in an illegally parked car smelling strongly of burned marijuana in the 3500 block of North Maryland Avenue at 3:25 a.m. Dec. 5. No other details were available.
26Eight window grates 3-feet by 18-inches valued at $2,400 were taken from window wells at a residence in the 4500 block of North Oakland Avenue sometime Nov. 19 to Dec. 3. A similar theft was reported in the 4400 block of North Oakland Avenue, Shorewood, Dec. 3 or 4.
27A package from Lands End was taken from the 1700 block of East Cumberland Avenue sometime 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 3 and reported Dec. 5.
· A Whitefish Bay woman, age not released, was arrested for battery/domestic violence related after hitting her husband in the head with a musical instrument described as a type of guitar destroying it at 7:45 p.m. Dec. 3. The woman also destroyed two or three other of these instruments before hitting her husband. On Dec. 5, during a charging conference, the victim "did want to proceed" and the woman was then issued municipal citations for battery.
28A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, loitering/prowling and riding a bicycle on the sidewalk at Henry Clay Street and Bay Ridge Avenue at 2:35 a.m. Dec. 5. He had 4.8 grams of marijuana and a grinder.
29Three packages were delivered and two were taken from the 4200 block of North Lake Drive between 1 and 2 p.m. Dec. 5.
30A bicycle valued at $400 was taken from a detached garage in the 5300 block of North Bay Ridge Avenue on Dec. 5 or 6.
31A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving, no proof of insurance, failure to notify change of address and failure to stop at a flashing red light in the 100 block of East Hampton Road at 3:10 a.m. Dec. 6. His BAC was 0.08.
NORTH SHORE FIRE DEPARTMENT
· Firefighters responded to 119 calls, 79 emergency medical and 40 fire/rescue, Dec. 2 to 8.
32Firefighters responded to a report of smoke coming from the floor in front of a fireplace in the 6000 block of North Lake Drive, Whitefish Bay, at 9:08 p.m. Dec. 8. On arrival, a fire was discovered under the flooring causing "high heat and cracked marble." That flooring was removed and the fire extinguished. Damage was estimated at $5,000.
