There will be no shortage of things to do over the Fourth of July weekend.

Whether it is the four-day Glendale Days festival or the quaint parade and ice cream social in Bayside, there is something for everyone to get in the holiday spirit.

Bayside

Fourth of July activities

9 a.m. - parade; Kids and adults will be welcome to decorate their bicycles, baby buggies or wagons or just come in costume to march in the parade that starts at Bayside Middle School, 601 E. Ellsworth Lane, and travels along Standish Place to Ellsworth Lane to Ellsworth Park, 600 E. Ellsworth Lane. Afterward, village trustees will hand out ice cream to parade participants.

Glendale

Fourth and Glendale Days activities

A four day celebration of the Fourth of July begins July 2 and ends July 5

All events at Kletzsch Park, 6560 N. Milwaukee River Parkway unless otherwise noted.

TODAY

5 to 9 p.m. - unlimited carnival rides with $18 wrist band provided by Rainbow Valley Rides

FRIDAY

11 a.m. to 1 p.m. - children's talent show

3:30 and 6 p.m. - bingo sponsored by North Suburban Special Olympics

3 to 6:30 p.m. - Air National Guard Jazz and Concert Bands

SATURDAY

10 a.m. - children's parade begins at the flagpole at Parkway School, 5910 N. Milwaukee River Parkway

10:30 a.m. - main parade from the corner of Civic Drive up the Milwaukee River Parkway into Kletzsch Park;

immediately following the parade, there will be an opening ceremony at the main stage in the park. A flag disposal ceremony at the north ball diamond will follow the opening ceremony.

noon to 3 p.m. - used book sale behind City Hall1, 3:30 and 6 p.m. - bingo sponsored by North Suburban Special Olympics

9:30 p.m. - fireworks

SUNDAY

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. - collector car and cycle show

11 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Nicolet Recreation Department Youth Softball All Star Games

noon to 4 p.m. - unlimited carnival rides with wrist band

1 and 3:30 p.m. - bingo sponsored by North Suburban Special Olympics

7 p.m. - Glendale Days raffle drawing

Fox Point

Fourth of July activities

9 a.m. - parade; those interested in marching should assemble at 8:30 a.m. in front of the Fox Point Police Station, 7300 N. Santa Monica Blvd. The parade will travel north on Santa Monica Boulevard to Lombardy Road, west on Lombardy to Bell Road, and back east on Bell to the Lonagacre Pavilion.

9 to noon - ice cream social at Longacre Pavilion. Activities at the pavilion include a jazz trio, free ice cream and drinks, the annual softball game between residents and the Fox Point Police Department; and, for kids, bouncers, clowns and face painting.

Brown Deer

Fourth of July activities

All events at Village Park, 4800 W. Green Brook Drive, unless otherwise noted

1:30 p.m. - parade, along Dean Road east to North 51st, south to Green Brook Drive and Village Park; kiddie parade starts at Dean Road and 52nd Street and precedes main parade; Marshal: Robert Moranski

Noon to 5 p.m. - Village pond is open

2 p.m. - ice cream party for participants in kiddie parade

2:45 to 7 p.m. - a short ceremony to celebrate 125 years of the Brown Deer Schoolhouse, followed by an open house

3 to 4 p.m. - children's games

2:30 to 8:30 p.m. - corn roast and picnic

4 to 5 p.m. - Comedy Sportz

8:45 p.m. - raffle drawing

9:30 p.m. - fireworks; in case of rain or fog, they will be rescheduled for the same time Sunday, July 5

Whitefish Bay

Fourth of July activities

All events are at Klode Park, 5900 N. Lake Shore Drive, unless otherwise stated.

11:30 a.m. - parade; route begins on Kent and Silver Spring, east to Lake, north to Klode Park; Marshal: family of the late Robert and Jeanne Piekenbrock. Both Robert and Jeanne passed away in 2008 and were great volunteers and sponsors of many Whitefish Bay community events.

1 p.m. - flag raising and playing of national anthem

1 to 4 p.m. - children's games

12:30 to 2:30 p.m. - Riverfront Ramblers

3 to 4:30 p.m. - 2nd Thought

5 to 6:45 p.m. - CCW

7:15 to 9 p.m. - JoJo and the Go Monkeys

9:15 p.m. or dusk - fireworks

Shorewood

Fourth of July activities

AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES ON OAKLAND AVENUE

12:30 to 2 p.m. - Open swim at Verner H. Esser pool at Shorewood High School, 1701 E. Capitol Drive

3:30 to 4:30 p.m. - parade, begins at the corner of Oakland Avenue and Lake Bluff Boulevard travels south on Oakland to Edgewood, ending at River Park; Marshals: Dan Ford and LeRoy Augustine

4:30 to 5:30 p.m. - free ice cream, children's games and Little League game at River Park

EVENING ACTIVITIES AT ATWATER PARK (note: Atwater Beach will be closed at 1 p.m. on July 4 for the fireworks set up)

6 p.m. - food, beverages, clowns, music and dunk tank

6:30 p.m. - Shorewood Concert Band performance

8 p.m. - flag ceremony

9:30 p.m. - fireworks
