BAYSIDE

 

1A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving, refusal to take a breath test and failure to stop at a red light at West Brown Deer and North Port Washington roads at 2:25 a.m. on Aug. 17. After running the red light, the man was seen stopping at intersections with flashing yellow lights. When police pulled him over and asked why he did that, he said he was sorry he hadn’t stopped for the red light so he stopped for the yellows, “Just in case.”

 

BROWN DEER

 

2A Dodge Stratus was reported stolen and another car had damage to door locks and the ignition cylinder at the same location in the 8000 block of North 60th Street some time Aug. 12.

 

3A cell phone was taken from an unlocked car in the 4900 block of West Brown Deer Road early evening Aug. 12.

 

4An attempt was made to steal a Chrysler sedan found with damage to a door and the ignition cylinder in the 9200 block of North Green Bay Road on Aug. 12.

 

5A 2000 Jeep Cherokee was taken from the Four Points by Sheraton, 8900 N. Kildeer Court, during the day Aug. 12 and recovered in the 8600 block of West Brown Deer Road that evening. During the investigation, police found a Dodge Intrepid in the lot reported stolen from Milwaukee.

 

6Two unlocked cars were entered but nothing taken in the 8100 block of North Green Bay Road on Aug. 12 or 13.

 

7Four females, age and residences not released, were arrested, one for driving a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent and three for party to that crime and one also for obstruction and two warrants after fleeing Kohl’s, 9060 N. Green Bay Road, at 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 13.

 

8Two sets of golf clubs, valued at $3,000, and a $300 iPad were taken from two unlocked cars parked in a driveway in the 8200 block of North 37th Street overnight Aug. 12 or 13.

 

 Two counterfeit bills were passed, one $10 bill at Pick ‘n Save, 9200 N. Green Bay Road, Aug. 13 and one $50 bill at CU Service Center, 6401 W. Brown Deer Road, Aug. 14.

 

9A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for possession of marijuana after he was stopped for riding his bicycle against traffic in the 8000 block of North 60th Street at 11:20 p.m. on Aug. 18. As the officer approached the man, he threw a baggie into the grass. Inside was 0.7 grams of marijuana, which he said was for personal use only.

 

10More than a dozen thefts were reported at Walmart, 6300 W. Brown Deer Road, between Aug. 13, the day it opened, and Aug. 18. Arrests were made but that information is not yet available.

 

FOX POINT

 

11A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, driving without a valid license, fleeing from police, unreasonable speed and violation of a traffic signal and his male passenger, age and residence not released, for obstruction in the 8200 block of North Port Washington Road at 6:20 p.m. on Aug. 18. The men continued to drive until fleeing the car and running into the woods near the 800 block of West Calumet Road. When located, they denied being in the car, saying they were playing basketball at a nearby park. When told there were no parks in the area, the men then said they had walked from Bayshore. The driver had a pipe with marijuana residue and the passenger gave a false name


GLENDALE

 

12A wallet was taken after two cars were entered in the 7600 block of North Longview Drive between 2 and 4 a.m. on Aug. 13. Credit cards were used at numerous gas stations.

 

13A 17-year-old Milwaukee boy was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent after he was found driving a stolen van in the 6000 block of North Port Washington Road at 2:18 a.m. on Aug. 14. The van was stolen in Milwaukee during an armed robbery Aug. 12. The boy said he’d been driving the van for two days and didn’t know it was stolen.

 

14A 22-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for theft and a warrant at Kohl’s, 5650 N. Bayshore Drive, at 7 p.m. on Aug. 14. The woman admitted taking clothing, a ring and cosmetics valued at $200, saying she was sorry.

 

15Three Milwaukee females, ages 15, 18 and 19, were arrested for theft of shirts and pants valued at $610 and for possession of booster bags at Kohl’s, 5650 N. Bayshore Drive, at 1 p.m. on Aug. 15.

 

16A $400 bicycle was taken from an unlocked garage in the 5700 block of North Argyle Avenue on Aug. 15 or 16.

 

17A man reported being the victim of an armed robbery as he arrived at work at Pick ‘n Save, 1735 W. Silver Spring Drive, about 5 a.m. on Aug. 16. As he got out of his car, two males about 20 threatened him, one implying he had a weapon saying, “Gimme a ride or we’ll mess you up.” They took his car and cell phone and drove away. The car was recovered in the 4200 block of North 24th Place on Aug. 17.

 

18A 2000 Dodge Intrepid was taken from the 5900 block of North Port Washington Road between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 16. It was recovered in the 4400 block of Monrovia Way, Milwaukee, five hours later.

 

19A purse and wallet, value not listed, were taken from a car at Elite Fitness, 2001 W. Good Hope Road, before 9 a.m. on Aug. 16. A rear window was smashed to gain entry, causing more than $200 damage.

 

20A 31-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for burglary after taking a $600 iPhone, some cash and other items from a back room at Payless Shoes, 5800 North Bayshore Drive, at 5:15 p.m. on Aug. 16. The man fled the store but was found walking a few blocks away.

 

21A 64-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for criminal damage to property after throwing a concrete slab through a window, causing $2,000 damage at Taco Bell, 5560 N. Port Washington Road, at 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 16. The man, who was intoxicated, had walked up to the drive-thru window with another man and tried to order food. When told they couldn’t order there, they yelled obscenities, made threats and a short time later he broke the window.

 

22A 42-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, driving a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent, reckless driving, driving while suspended, illegal turn and driving north in southbound lanes in the 5400 block of I- 43 at 2 a.m. on Aug. 18. Police had attempted to pull the man over because of defective head and tail lights. He exited I-43 and crashed his car at North River and West Green Tree roads. The man, who was recently released from prison, was driving a stolen car filled with items reported stolen.

SHOREWOOD

 

23A cell phone valued at $400 was taken during an armed robbery at East Kensington and North Morris boulevards at 3:45 a.m. on Aug. 16. The victim was approached by a group of boys, one with a gun. They took his phone and fled the scene. One was later arrested in Whitefish Bay. The case is under investigation.

 

24A Dodge Durango taken from the 4400 block of West Woodruff Avenue on Aug. 14 was recovered in the 7600 block of West Appleton Avenue on Aug. 18. It had been parked there since Aug. 15.

 

25A 38-year-old Glendale woman was arrested for drunken driving after she pulled onto private property in the 1100 block of East Capitol Drive at 2:45 a.m. on Aug. 16. The woman, who admitted having four beers, failed field sobriety tests and had a BAC of 0.14.

 

 Two unlocked cars were entered in the 3500 block of North Hackett Avenue and another in the 2200 block of East Newton Avenue on Aug. 16 or 17. Nothing was reported taken.

 

26An attempted theft of a car was reported in the 3900 block of North Cramer Street on Aug. 16 or 17. More than $250 damage was reported to a door lock and ignition cylinder.

 

27A $1,500 Macbook, $100 purse and $150 sunglasses were taken from an unlocked car in the 2400 block of East Newton Avenue overnight Aug. 17 or 18.

 

28A 23-year-old Lake Geneva man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest after a resident saw him enter a neighbor’s car in the 4300 block of North Alpine Avenue at 2:45 a.m. on Aug. 18.

 

29Gift certificates valued at $1,000 and an iPod Nano valued at more than $100 were taken from an unlocked car in the 2700 block of East Newton Avenue before 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 18.

 

30A 56-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for theft of two pair of Ken Cole eyeglass frames valued at $320 from Vision Works, 4000 N. Oakland Ave., at 4 p.m. on Aug. 18. The man took the frames and fled the store but was stopped a block away.

 

31Three Milwaukee men, ages 24, 25 and 26, were arrested for prowling/loitering after a resident reported them trying to open garage doors in the alley behind 3800 block of North Farwell Avenue about 6:20 p.m. on Aug. 20. One of the men was also cited for disorderly conduct after he urinated in public.


WHITEFISH BAY

 

32A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving, with a prior conviction, and driving after revocation in the 1200 block of East Fairmount Avenue at 3:30 a.m. on Aug. 18. A search warrant was issued and he was taken for a blood draw.

 

 A resident reported being the victim of a fraud after receiving a worthless check for an item he sold on Craigslist on Aug. 18. He cashed the check, which was more than a $1,000 over what was owed, and returned that amount to the buyer before he found out the check was worthless.

 

 A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving, failure to stop for an accident and a probation violation after he smashed into a construction site in the 4900 block of North Lake Drive and rear-ended a car in the 5600 block of North Lake Drive and fled to the 4900 block of East Bartlett Avenue about 4 p.m. on Aug. 18. His BAC was 0.27.

 

33A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for failure to have a motorcycle license after losing control of his motorcycle and crashing in the 5500 block of North Lake Drive at 7:25 a.m. on Aug. 19. The motorcycle had minor damage and he was not injured.

 

34A male, age and residence not released, was arrested for driving while suspended and unreasonable and impudent speed, and two male passengers, ages and residences not released, for underage drinking in the 2300 block of East Glendale Avenue at 11:45 p.m. on Aug. 19.

 

35Three females and three males, not yet 21, residences not released, were mailed citations for underage drinking in the 300 block of East Day Avenue at 12:35 a.m. on Aug. 20. An adult signed a responsibility agreement and took the teens to their homes.

 

36Two males, ages and residences not released, were arrested for underage drinking and one also for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after they were seen riding bikes without lights and going south in northbound lanes in the 5200 block of North Lake Drive at 11:30 p.m. on Aug. 20.

 

37Four unlocked cars were entered in the 4600 block of North Idlewild Avenue overnight Aug. 21 or 22. One resident reported a check book and $340 cash taken. Cars were also entered in the 1500 block of East Blackthorne Place and 4700 North Wilshire Road on Aug. 21 or 22. Nothing was reported taken.

 

 A male, age and residence not released, was arrested for disorderly conduct/domestic violence related, disorderly conduct and felony bail jumping after he head-butted and kicked a relative in the stomach at 10:45 p.m. on Aug. 22. The suspect, who said he was injured, was treated at a hospital and then taken into custody.

 

38A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving and a parole violation after stopped for speeding in the 600 block of East Hampton Road at 2:25 a.m. on Aug. 24. His BAC was 0.13. A male passenger was also arrested on a parole violation.

 

NORTH SHORE FIRE DEPARTMENT

 

Firefighters responded to 126 calls, 91 emergency medical and 35 fire/rescue, Aug. 18 to 24.
