BROWN DEER

 

1Two women, ages and residences not released, were arrested for theft of baby and junior items valued at $368 from Burlington Coat Factory, 9040 N. Green Bay Road, at 8:25 p.m. July 25. The women were seen walking through the store putting the items in their purses and then attempting to leave without paying.

 

2Electronics valued at more than $8,000, including amplifiers and stereo equipment were taken from a storage unit that was broken into at Public Storage, 9199 N. Green Bay Road, July 25 or 26.

 

3A woman, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving and driving the wrong way on a divided highway in the 8700 block of North Green Bay Road at 2:42 a.m. Aug. 3. Her BAC was 0.23.

 

4A woman, age and residence not released, was cited for disorderly conduct after causing a disturbance during Brown Deer Municipal Court, 4800 W. Green Brook Drive, at 5:45 p.m. Aug. 5. Before court begins, people are told they must turn off their phones, so when the woman’s phone rang, an officer approached her to take possession of the phone until court was over. The woman refused to turn over her phone and became belligerent. She was then cited.

 

5A 2001 Chrysler van was taken from the 6500 block of West Brown Deer Road between 6:20 and 6:50 p.m. Aug. 5.

 

6Two cars were damaged during attempted thefts in the 4300 and 5600 blocks of West Bradley Road between 7:10 and 7:45 p.m. Aug. 5. About $1,000 in damage was reported to the ignition columns.

 

7A Ralph Lauren purse valued at $200 and contents, including credit cards, was taken from a locked car at Tripoli County Club, 7401 N. 43rd St., before 3 p.m. Aug. 6. A door was damaged to gain entry and at least one credit card was used for more than $800.

 

8A counterfeit $100 bill was passed at Party City, 9190 N. Green Bay Road, Aug. 6, and one at Pick ‘n Save, 9200 N. Green Bay Road, Aug. 7. The counterfeits were bleached five dollar bills.

 

9A TV, value not available, was taken from the 8500 block of North Deerwood Drive just before 8:10 p.m. Aug. 9. The burglary occurred when the resident left home for about 30 minutes.

 

 A Brown Deer woman was arrested for disorderly conduct/domestic violence related after choking and spitting on her husband at 9:30 p.m. Aug. 9. Medical assistance was not requested.

 

FOX POINT

 

10Jewelry and flatware valued at more than $16,000 were reported taken from the 6900 block of North Barnett Lane at 5:45 p.m. Aug 10. The resident came home to find a sliding door open and boxes and other items scattered on the floor. She then discovered the flatware gone from the dining room and jewelry from bedrooms. She is still checking to see what was taken. There was no sign of forced entry.

 

11A Samsung Galaxy S5 valued at $650 was taken from the men’s restroom at McDonald’s, 8739 N. Port Washington Road, before 3 p.m. Aug. 12. The phone’s owner, an employee, called his number but it went right to voice mail.

 

12A counterfeit $50 bill and two $20 bills were passed in separate incidents at Walgreens, 8615 N. Port Washington Road, both between 7 and 7:30 p.m. Aug. 12. The $50 bill was used by a male to buy detergent, getting $44 cash back. The $20 bills were passed by another male who bought a pack of cigarettes paying with one of the bills and then asking for change for the other.

 

13A baggie holding one ounce of marijuana was found on the floor of Stefani Soccer, 8681 N. Port Washington Road, at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 14.

 

14A 2001 Dodge Intrepid was stolen from Cardinal Stritch University, 6801 N. Yates Road, the afternoon of Aug. 16 and recovered later in Milwaukee. The theft was caught on surveillance video when another Dodge arrived, which also turned out to be stolen, a male got out and entered the Intrepid and then both cars drove away, one of them backing into another parked car, causing minor damage.

 

GLENDALE

 

15A 2014 Infiniti valued at $55,000 was taken from International Infinity, 1515 W. Silver Spring Drive, Aug 4 to 6. The same car was reported stolen July 16 when left for service and later recovered in Milwaukee. OnStar was used and the car was found in the 100 block of West National Avenue.

 

16A 50-year-old Winnebago man was arrested for theft and trespassing after taking 12 clothing items valued at $390 from Sears, 5900 N. Port Washington Road, at 1 p.m. Aug. 6. The man had been arrested for a theft from Boston Store, Aug. 4 and at that time told he was banned from the Center.

 

17A projector and laptop valued at more than $400 were taken from Outreach Clinic, 210 W. Capitol Drive, Aug. 6 and reported Aug. 7.

 

18A phone and wallet including cash and credit cards were taken from a locker at LA Fitness, 501 W. Northshore Drive, before 1:15 p.m. Aug. 9. One credit card was used to pay a phone bill and the case is under investigation.

 

18Seven pairs of sunglasses from Versace and Prada valued at $1,600 were taken from Sunglass Hut, 490 W. Northshore Drive, at 7:45 p.m. Aug. 9. A male entered the store, grabbed the glasses and fled.

 

19A 25-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for driving under the influence and possession of 6.1 grams of marijuana after he was seen driving erratically in the 5800 block of North Green Bay Avenue at 9:20 p.m. Aug. 9. There was a strong odor of burnt marijuana in the car and the man admitted smoking two blunts, drinking two beers and taking Xanax. He was taken for a blood draw.

 

20A 2000 Chrysler van was taken from the 5800 block of North Bayshore Drive before 11:15 p.m. Aug. 9.

 

21A Dodge Caravan with the engine running was found in the Park and Ride Lot, 5701 N. Port Washington Road, at 1:30 a.m. Aug. 10. It had been stolen from the Veteran’s Affairs Office, 5000 W. National Avenue.

 

22A tire and rim were taken from a car parked at Aurora Medical, 3003 W. Good Hope Road, during the day Aug. 11. The car had been jacked up and the tire valued at $500 removed.

 

23A 42-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and theft at Kohl’s, 5650 N. Bayshore Drive, at 4:45 p.m. Aug. 12. The woman filled a cart with intimate apparel and belts valued at $365 and entered a fitting room. When she left her purse was full and the fitting room empty. The woman had a crack pipe.

 

24A 50-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for obstruction, a parole violation and driving while suspended in the 5800 block of I-43 at 1:20 a.m. Aug. 13. The man gave a false name and when asked about it, apologized, and gave another false name. He was then warned that if he continued to lie, he would be cited for obstruction. He then gave another a false name. The man was on parole for burglary.

SHOREWOOD

 

25A Dodge van taken from the 1700 block of East Newton Avenue Aug. 6 was recovered with damage to the ignition column in the 5400 block of North 44th Street, Milwaukee, at 9 a.m. Aug. 7.

 

26Three counterfeit $20 bills were passed at Culver’s, 1325 E. Capitol Drive, Aug. 7 and reported Aug. 8.

 

27Jewelry and silverware, value not available, were taken from the 3500 block of North Lake Drive between 2:30 and 8:25 p.m. Aug. 8. A rear sunroom door was forced open to gain entry.

 

28Garbage and what was described as human feces were found dumped in the middle of the football field at Shorewood High School, 1701 E. Capitol Drive, Aug. 9. No damage was reported.

 

29Two cars were broken into behind the 3800 block of North Oakland Avenue Aug. 9 or 10. A radio valued at $200 was taken from one car and nothing from the other. Damage to the cars was listed at $100 and $200.

 

30A 22-year-old Shorewood man was arrested for drunken driving, with a prior conviction, after he was stopped for erratic driving in the 3900 block of North Frederick Avenue at 3 a.m. Aug. 10. He failed field sobriety tests and was taken for a blood draw.

 

31Two females were caught on surveillance video taking items at Pick ‘n Save, 4145 N. Oakland Ave., at 2:13 p.m. Aug. 12 and then again at 10 a.m. Aug. 13. The women took baby formula, cough drops and other items valued at more than $225.

 

WHITEFISH BAY

 

32Two males, ages and residences not released, were arrested on warrants after police responded to a 911 open line plotting to Dominican High School, 120 E. Silver Spring Drive, at 11:45 p.m. Aug. 10. More than a dozen males were found playing basketball saying an employee gave them permission to be there. That person is no longer an employee and the school has been contacted regarding trespassing citations.

 

 More than a dozen mostly unlocked cars were entered in the following blocks Aug. 10 or 11: 4800 North Berkeley and Diversey Blvd.; 1200 East Courtland Place; 100 West Fairmount Avenue; 4700 North Sheffield Avenue; 5000 North Shoreland Avenue; 4600 North Wildwood Avenue; 4700, 4800, 4900 North Woodburn Street; 4800, 5000 North Woodruff Avenue. Taken from one car was a pair of $200 sunglasses, and from another a jacket and backpack, value not listed. Also some reported small amounts of change taken.

 

33A male, not yet 21, residence not released, was arrested for violation of absolute sobriety, violation of his probationary license and underage person transporting intoxicants after a report of beer cans in the road in the 500 block of East Silver Spring about 1 a.m., Aug. 12.

 

 A resident reported that her son had purchased Etizolam over the internet using her credit card and she wanted the drug destroyed. The drug was described to be used to “treat insomnia and anxiety disorders.”

 

34A bicycle valued at $500 was taken from Whitefish Bay High School, 1200 E. Fairmount, before 7 p.m. Aug. 13 and recovered in the alley behind the 5500 block of North Santa Monica Boulevard about 8 p.m.

 

35Five boys, ages and residences not released, were all cited for violation of park hours and loitering/prowling and one also for a curfew violation and another for “placing injurious substance,” not named in the road in the 600 to 1000 blocks of East Fairmount Avenue about 11:40 p.m. Aug. 13. The boys were found at Cahill Square after residents reported someone ringing doorbells and running. They were turned over to their parents.

 

36A home was entered but nothing taken in the 5800 block of North Lake Drive Aug. 14. A basement window was forced open to gain entry but when that occurred was not known.

 

37A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for disorderly conduct and theft from Sendik’s, 500 E. Silver Spring Drive, at 5:45 p.m. Aug. 15. The man attempted to leave the store with a $32 bottle of liquor and, when confronted, fought with employees.

 

38A woman, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving and refusal to take a breath test after a report of an erratic driver in the 4800 block of North Wildwood Avenue at 2:25 a.m. Aug. 17.

Firefighters responded to 131 calls, 87 emergency medical and 44 fire/rescue, Aug. 11 to Aug. 17.
