Village Spillage is an opinion blog about Whitefish Bay and the surrounding areas. It focuses on Village Government, elections, Silver Spring, and many other topics that aren't covered in the media.
Kevin Buckley serves as a Trustee for the Village of Whitefish Bay. The commentary within does not represent the official position of the Board.
Anyone notice anything in the "North Shore NOW*" paper yesterday?
Here's the locality breakdown of articles:
Shorewood- 7 articles
Brown Deer - 3 articles
Fox Point - 6 articles
Maple Dale/Indian Hill School - 5 articles
Mequon - 2 articles
Bayside - 1 article
WHITEFISH BAY - 0. Zero. Zip. Zilch. We were skunked.
Apparently, nothing happened in Whitefish Bay last week. (Or Glendale, for that matter.)
Truck Day in the Bay didn't happen.
The Board of Trustees didn't create a new Environmental Commission.
There weren't 3 confirmed cases of H1N1 flu in the WFB school district.
Whitefish Bay's "original" drug dealer, Tim Manikowski didn't plead guilty to first degree reckless homicide.
Nope. None of that happened. Or perhaps those news events just weren't important enough to be printed.
Sad. That sound you just heard was our printed local media hitting rock bottom.
(As a side note .. way to go Shorewood. Seven articles? And some great topics, too. Shorewood offering improvement, no-interest loans encouraging improvements to housing in the community? Outrageous! Village hires consultant for downtown? Crazy. Funding for Oakland building's revitalization? Very nice.)
* Whitefish Bay and Glendale excluded
