OBAMA INHERITS "HELL" FROM BUSH

With the recent announcement that the latest budget deficit for ONE YEAR is 1.2 trillion dollars, the atrocious legacy of George W. Bush adds another chapter to his sordid presidency.  It is easily the worst administration in U.S.  history.  Even the most hate-filled right-wingers couldn't possibly bring themselves to wish this list on any incoming president.  Obama's burden in this office will be overwhelming.  In order to try and fix the U.S. we shall need an extraordinary president.  Nobody can overcome this sordid legacy, let's hope Obama corrects some of it.

We have an ill-conceived and illegal war in Iraq that is draining the treasury at a time when we need all the assets we can muster just to keep our financial head above water.  In the process we have damaged the image and legacy of the United States of America.  To say the "surge" is working is a little like saying we should lock up everyone convicted of every crime for life and the crime stats will go down.  Sure they will, but that is illegal, immoral, and would be a human disaster.   We are in Iraq ILLEGALLY!   But the Bush family has had a history of doing that via their coziness with Hitler and the Saudi family, from 1941 to the present.  The image of the U.S. in the world is at a low point historically.  [search: bush.nazi]

In Afghanistan we continue to make mistake after mistake.  Poppies to produce heroin are at an all-time production high in Afghanistan.  Kabul is failing to administer any semblance of order and national government.  The very segments of Afghanistan's family military powers that we used to "help" us are causing some of the worst damage now.  Even with an infusion of billions of dollars from the U.S. and Europe, the economy is in shambles.  The stupid and error-filled policies along the Pakistani border have created a blooming and monumental problem in the area.  Please remember, Pakistan has nuclear weapons, whether or not Bush can pronounce nuclear, and they are unstable enough to use them against India or anybody.  With Afghanistan all but out of control, a looming future problem in Pakistan is fraught with major disaster.  Osama bin Laden was surrounded by U.S. forces, and ignorance allowed him to escape, prolonging our presence there.

Since George W. Bush told us he looked into Vladimir Putin's eyes and saw somebody he could trust, Putin has gone on an aggressive program to try and re-establish the old Soviet empire.  Putin was pro-active in Georgia, threatens all the former USSR nations, rules Chechnya with an iron fist,  refuses to pull the Russian navy out of a Ukranian port on the Black Sea, has threatened Ukraine, has shut off the natural gas line to western Europe, and on and on.  Bush stands by helplessly, and we are told he has been a protector of the United States.  Some protection.  The Cold War has been restarted by the man Bush said he could trust.  Some trust.

Our auto industry is on the brink of total collapse, our banks are closing and falling like dominos, other financial institutions have already folded, every day we learn of some small or major business enterprise closing its doors or laying off major portions of its labor force, we have sold our financial well being to China and Japan, unemployment departments are overwhelmed with newly unemployed, food banks are empty, homeless numbers are increasing, veterans have inadequate benefits, gas prices are again going up, state budgets are in a free-fall, the U.S. image continues in decline, people without health insurance are rising, no solution to the immigration dilemma, we continue to maintain prisons on foreign soil, Iraqis want us out and every poll there shows that overwhelmingly, Israel-Palestine problems increase as a result of inattention by Bush, North Korea is restarting its nuclear program, Darfur is ignored, Congo is ignored, the environment is being attacked by Bush policies, Bush political posturing has resulted in the most hate-filled political environment, on and on and on.  And Barack Obama, we want you to fix it tomorrow.

I cannot even summarize all the extensive damage the Bush administration has done, but suffice to say, I am pleased to say "goodbye and good riddance" to George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Karl Rove, and the gang that was so devious and hurtful that even former members of that administration gagged and left.  Oh, how we need someone to save us from the destructive behavior of this administration over the past 8 years.  A breath of fresh air is a start.  Things had begun to stink very badly in the the White House.
