For more than 75 years, Easter Seals Southeast WI has been offering help and hope to children and adults living with disabilities, and to the families who love them. Through therapy, training, education and support services, Easter Seals creates life-changing solutions so that people with disabilities can live, learn, work and play.
As an Easter Seals, we have a national network of 75 affiliates and a national organization that has a reach across the nation and internationally. We take great pride in the achievements of our sister affiliates and national organization. We are so proud of national partnership that serves are returning military and veterans, called the Dixon Center. The Dixon Center was recently nominated for the CLASSY Award.
“CLASSY Awards nominees strive for monumental change, not incremental improvements. They are big thinkers and bold leaders. They understand the complexities and changing dynamics of our most significant social challenges. They are problem solvers, introducing creative new solutions and technologies. Above all, CLASSY Awards nominees are the most significant catalysts for social progress.”
The Dixon Center is led by two dynamic former service members, Col. David Sutherland and Wisconsinite, Commander Kim Mitchell. Both served our country with distinction. They have applied all their energy since leaving the military to support our veterans and their families. We have been fortunate to host them twice in Milwaukee. Their leadership and practical solutions has moved Easter Seals forward in expanding and developing services into Veteran and Military Services.
Keep your fingers crossed the award ceremony is this weekend!
